Make it or break it: Kitchen makeover

ETTER / AFTER

 FØR / BEFORE
First layer of floor painting on counter.

Short summary in English:

I hated our old kitchen with pinewood counters and beige-tone kitchen fronts. We had an expensive offer from our entrepreneur, but we went for the more affordable alternative with new fronts from IKEA and Superfront - the latter a furniture firm tailoring modern fronts, handles, counters and feet for old IKEA items: superfront.com. I also painted the pinewood counters with floor oil - a little transparent, so you can still see the wood structure. Remember that this oil needs to dry for NINE days. That's right! But the oil lasts so much longer than ordinary painting.

The copper wire handles from Superfront is the detail that really spice up the look. Note: IKEA will only sell FAKTUM fronts until the 1st of August 2016 - so be fast!

Our old kitchen counter - chaos and yellow pinewood. The Moods of Norway waffle iron is perfect, though!

The horrible kitchen island before I painted it! I hate pinewood...

The counter looks so much better!
