The Norwegian designer Wiksén mixes the dark and sexy with elements inspired by Oliver Twist and poor people in the 1800 and 1900s. The result is polished, not poor! See photos from the catwalk:

Wiksén presented a collection where femme fatale meets Les Misérables for the autumn and winter 2013/2014. The audience were seated at DogA in Oslo on January 24th for one of the year´s first fashion shows. Designer Rikke Wiksén prepared the models for a stroll on the catwalk – excited to see the response.
Socially inspired
They came – one by one – with exclusive outfits. Wool and silk embrace the female figure in slender dresses and pants. The sweaters are more voluminous, but with a balanced thickness – making it look effortlessly elegant. With some red lipstick, the fit and look give a hint of femme fatale. The colors black, ivory, aubergine, white, grey and cornflower blue make a neutral and calm impression. The clothes are easy to dress up or down with accessories. Also, the tight leather skirt and pants say ´sexy female´.
– What themes does the collection represent?
– I´ve drawn inspiration from the 1800 and 1900s and the men at that time from the working class and the poor town areas. Orphanages, Oliver Twist, Les Misérables – it´s that kind of mood. I´ve selected details from that and brought them into the clothes, designer Rikke says to Oslo Fashion Week.
