Here´s a snippet from my Oslo Fashion Week article about H&M´s vintage and secondhand collections:
“H&M loves vintage and ESMOD OSLO. The worlwide brand gave the students at the fashion school an opportunity to display their talents for recyling and creativity.A healthy trend wave is washing over the world. In relation to the global climate issues and consumer waste concern, people have become more interested in secondhand and vintage. H&M wants to encourage the thought of recycling.
On Thursday 23rd of August, they launched two new collections named «H&M Loves Vintage» and «H&M Loves ESMOD OSLO». It all started this spring, when they asked people to gather their old clothes from the brand and deliver them. The first collection consists of selected treasures, and the second is designed by 29 ESMOD students, all contributing with one outfit each. They´ve used materials from the collected clothes.
The athmosphere was cheerfull and exciting when the jury announced the first, second and third place. The jurors were creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch and fashion and sustainable manager Catharina Midby. Many of the students were thrilled to meet these renowned industry characters.
Trami Ngo was selected the best contestant, much because of her combination of various denim materials. Her jacket has a cool, but yet composed and detailed look. Dark color-blocking is a key feature.
The 29 student outfits will be auctioned at bloppis.no. The vintage collection is located in Bogstadveien 11. The entire income of these two collections will go to UNICEF.”

(My personal favourite was James Lazar Braathen. His layer technique is amazing. The colors and different fabrics are a perfect match, and his shoes are a spiky fashion fetish dream…)
