Top trends fall 2012

1. Baroque
Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana sat the standard for this beautiful and yet mysterious trend. The patterns, flowers and colors are inspired by the art and architecture of the 1600s and 1700s. The barouqe pattern is visible with several other designers as well, such as Stella McCartney, Marni, Marchesa, Ralph Lauren and Lanvin. The flowers look like they´re  picked straight from an antique painting.

2. Gold
The Golden Lady is breathtaking with her eternal glamorous glow. The long golden evening gowns are made by the designers Elie Saab and Prabal Gurung. Michael Kors, Giambattista Valli and Paco Rabanne is offering shorter and more playful versions.

3. Velvet
Velvet is also a headliner this fall. Gucci offers dresses with exclusive velvet, giving the woman a romantic look from the past. Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani and Kenzo are among the designers who display this trend.

4. Peplum
Lanvin, Bottega Veneta and Christian Dior are among the many designers who front this fall´s most important trend: The Peplum. A peplum is a small “overskirt” placed at the bottom of a top or jacket, or at the middle of a dress. The chain stores are already stacked with different shapes and versions of the peplum.

5. Military
McQ, Salvatore Ferragamo and Burberry Prorsum showed military jackets and 40s strict shapes with buttons and dark earth colors like brown and green. This has been a revolving trend - it always comes to visit from time to time.

6. Pieces of fur
Rodarte, Tory Burch, Fendi, Mulberry and BCBG Max Azria are among the many designers who use pieces of fur on their clothes. Arms with fur, or just pieces of fur attached to a jacket, dress or skirts are trendy. Colored fur and hairy jackets are still a trend!

7. All leather
This fall´s second headliner is leather. Preferably from tip to toe. Versace, Givenchy, Alexander Wang, Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent and Michael Kors show tough and strong leather pieces almost adjacent to the gothic style. Waxed leather are also hot, shown by Acne, Marni and Jil Sander.

8. 60´s patterns
Prada is the leading designer for this trend. Playful and happy patterns in many different colors give a flasback to the 60´s music and dancing youths. It´s also safe to wear several pieces in the same pattern, or different patterns. Play with patterns this fall, that is also the message given from Mary Katranzou, Miu Miu and Rochas.

9. Large silhouettes
Comme des Garcons, Chloé, Altuzarra and Jil Sander shown overdimentional coats and jackets. They´re almost sculptural, and the shape make big look beautiful.

10. Solid blue
Solid blue colors is still a trend. Stella McCartney displayed it in her collection. The combination of strong blue and black is also a win. Remember that blue handbags and cluthes are hot too!
